Tracking staff with training matrices

While we have designed the Lucidity system with certain functions in mind, sometimes our clients come up with clever uses of the system that help them simplify other business functions.
Our mates at Cargill have found an additional use for the training matrix function to help them stay on top of staffing levels across their various sites.
“The training matrix function is really good at helping us stay on top of any outstanding training needs in our workforce. But we also find it really helpful in ensuring that our sites have the right number of staff in the right roles,” says Maurice Dunn, Training Manager at Cargill.
“Because all our sites are set up in the same way, we’ve heavily used the roles function where we assign workers to a particular role in the Lucidity system based on their job. We use this easily assign training to everybody who requires it, but because these roles are consistent across our business it also gives us central oversight of how many people are trained in particular processes at each site.
“For example, if you’ve got a site that needs five operators to do a particular task, we can double check the capabilities in the training matrix. In the case that they only have two workers who have been assigned to the related role that provides training to complete that particular task, we can proactively reach out to them and see if they need additional resource or employees who need to be allocated for additional training. So, we’re not only checking training, we’re also staying on top of the capabilities of a site to ensure that the right amount of people are in the right roles.
“It’s been really helpful in that regard.”
